Are you looking to take your career to the next level and complement your education with an MBA, but aren’t sure if it’s right for you? When can you start an MBA program, how does it work, and is it worth the investment? An MBA isn’t suitable for everyone, so it’s important to first consider whether it will truly benefit you.

When to start an MBA program?

The MBA degree is becoming increasingly common in the Czech Republic. It can be valuable when seeking jobs both domestically and abroad, and it can also enhance your current role or personal development. But when should you start? What are the admission requirements, and what qualities should an MBA student have?

Don’t skip work experience

Unlike traditional university programs, MBA studies are recommended primarily for those with some professional experience. Fresh graduates – bachelor’s, engineering, or master’s degree holders can still enroll, but several years of relevant work experience will allow you to gain much more from the program. You’ll be able to draw on real-world situations, discuss solutions more insightfully, and directly apply newly acquired knowledge in your work.

Age Doesn’t Matter

Whether you’re 25 or 60, you can apply. At CEMI, age is not a barrier, what matters is your motivation and willingness to study. Admission requires at least a bachelor’s degree or a complete secondary education with a professional resume demonstrating managerial experience.

Academic year and study format

The academic year starts either in March or October, depending on when you apply. Standard study duration is one year, but if you take advantage of early thesis submission, it is possible to complete the program in just 9 months.

At CEMI, courses are delivered online, with in-person meetings only for the initial orientation, final thesis defense, and graduation ceremony. This format makes it suitable for busy professionals, as regular commuting is not required. Participation in the initial orientation is optional, and the thesis defense can also be conducted online.

CEMI programs are highly practical. Experienced instructors with real-world expertise and university-level teaching experience lead the courses. Classes conclude with assignments and case studies based on your own professional practice. The program ends with the defense of your final thesis.

Financing your MBA

An MBA can be offered as a workplace benefit or financed personally. Applicants can choose from three program options – MBA PURE, MBA PREMIUM, and MBA PLATINUM – each with different costs and benefits. The program choice is made when completing the application form.

How to recognize a quality MBA program

Having an MBA title does not always guarantee a high-quality education. Focus on the institution offering the program. Check the program’s duration, structure, course offerings, and the instructors’ credentials. Be wary of institutions offering an MBA in just a few weeks, with unverifiable accreditation, questionable program structures, or tutors without practical experience.

At CEMI, you can rely on top-tier instruction by experienced tutors, a choice of multiple study programs, and a program length that truly reflects the rigor of an MBA. Our graduates’ testimonials and the prestigious British ASIC Premier Institution accreditation, the first in Central Europe, attest to the quality of our MBA programs.
